We know what you’re thinking: Hello? Pride Month is in June…so why is Pride Halton’s
Parade in July?
While June is recognized around the world as Pride Month for a very good reason, we at Pride Halton don’t believe that 2SLGBTQIA+ visibility should be confined to 30 days of the year. That’s why we created Pride 365 — an initiative to celebrate and support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community every day of the year, not just in Pride Month. This initiative emphasizes the importance of continuous recognition, acceptance, and advocacy for 2SLGBTQIA+ rights and issues. We hold year-round events for the queer community to ensure that a safe space is never far away from those that need one.
Our flagship event is the Pride Halton Parade and Pride in the Park festival in July. By celebrating in July, we avoid overlapping with other Pride events in a jam-packed June. It doesn’t hurt that July typically has sunnier and drier weather for our festivities—but we don't wanna jinx it so knock on wood!
We hope to see you at this year’s parade on July 19 at 2pm in Milton. All members of the queer community are welcome to march with us. You can click here to register.
After the parade, stay for Pride in the Park at Milton’s Fairgrounds, which runs from 3-8:30pm. There will be food trucks, live music, a vendor market, and a space to connect with a supportive and empowering community.
The Parade and Pride in the Park are both free, family-friendly events. Don’t miss out on a day of laughter, entertainment, and QUEER JOY!
