PRISM Halton Is Now Officially Pride Halton

Hello friends, allies, and community members,

I’m excited to share a significant milestone with you: PRISM Halton is now officially known as Pride Halton.

Over the years, our organization has grown alongside the community it serves. What began as a grassroots initiative under the name PRISM Halton — built by volunteers who believed in creating safe, welcoming spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ people in Halton — has evolved into a region-wide movement rooted in visibility, connection, and pride. As our reach expanded across Milton, Burlington, Oakville, Halton Hills, and surrounding areas, it became clear that our name should reflect who we are today and where we’re going.

Moving forward, we’ll be proudly known as Pride Halton.

Honouring Our Roots

While our name is changing, our foundation remains the same. PRISM Halton represents the heart of who we are — a community-led organization grounded in care, inclusion, and showing up for one another. The relationships built, the trust earned, and the spaces created under PRISM Halton continue to shape everything we do as Pride Halton.

This evolution is not about leaving our past behind, but about carrying it forward with intention and pride.

What This Means Going Forward

As Pride Halton, we’re continuing to build on the momentum our community has helped create. This includes:

• Pride365 community events are held throughout the year across the Halton region

• Our annual Pride Parade and Pride in the Park, bringing people together to celebrate visibility, love, and belonging

• Growing partnerships with volunteers, sponsors, local organizations, and businesses who share our commitment to inclusion

Everything we do remains grounded in community — just as it always has been.
